BBR Challenge #5: Walking

It’s week 5 of the Better Body Resolution Six-Week Challenge, and we have a new challenge for you!

Staying physically active is a key part of optimal health, so creating an exercise habit can have a powerful impact on your life. That’s why this week, we want to challenge you to walk thirty minutes every day. Check out the challenge video here!

The Benefits of Walking

Walking is a great way to stay physically active. It’s good for your cardiovascular health, your bones, and your muscles. It can help you reach and maintain a healthy weight for your body. It can improve your mood and even your balance and coordination. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or haven’t exercised in years, walking can have a powerful impact on your health.

Walking is also great because you can take it at your own pace. If you haven’t exercised in a while, be sure to listen to your body and scale the exercise based on your health!

Tips For This Week’s Challenge
  • Drink plenty of water. While walking may not seem as strenuous as running, it’s still important to stay hydrated!
  • Dress for the weather. You don’t want to freeze during your walk! And if it’s too cold to walk outside at all, a treadmill is a great option.
  • Don’t have a solid thirty minutes to walk? No worries! You can break the challenge up into chunks throughout the day. For example, you could take a ten minute walk in the morning, walk ten more minutes during your lunch break, and then walk again in the evening for a total of thirty minutes.
  • Get your friends and family involved! Whether it’s taking a walk around the block with your coworkers at lunch time or going for a walk with your family on the weekend, staying physically active can be more fun when you’re with other people. It’s also a great way to help everyone improve their health!
